About Us

In 1935, Clarence Bontrager founded Bontrager’s Auction Service and quickly established the business on a reputation of honesty, professionalism and personal service. His son Alferd joined the business in 1956, first working as auctioneer, and later becoming a real estate broker. Another son, Wilbur, worked as auctioneer. Alferd continued to oversee and grow the business after his father died in 1987.  By 1995, Robert “Todd” Jantzi (cousin) began working in all phases of the business, becoming a professional auctioneer and real estate broker. With Alferd’s retirement in 2009, Todd continues the Bontrager business by prioritizing professionalism with the same personal service that was started in 1935.
